Q: Is this ministry only for people interested in adopting a child or being a Foster parent?
A: Absolutely not. God already told us we “should” and “can” help the fatherless, so now it is up to us (the church) to understand “How” and “What” help is needed.
Not everyone is called to adoption or fostering, however those are much needed actions that the church members need to prayerfully consider, and will be supported greatly by this ministry.
This ministry is about how we engage everyone to support the vulnerable children in our church, city, state, country and world. If you are not called by God to adopt or foster then wrap-around is an area you can support. Maybe God is calling you to lead one of our target focus areas like Families Count, Royal Kids Camp, or STAND for Orphans . Maybe you are good at fundraising or are willing to run a garage sale. Maybe volunteering is your thing and so helping at Lowcountry Orphan Relief would be an option. Quite possibly you have organizational skills that could help with organizing and running a Respite Night for our Foster Families. There are lots of areas you can get involved in.
Contact us to discuss and find out where the needs are and how you can fit into God’s plan to help the vulnerable children.
Q: Where does the money go from the fundraising?
A: The money raised is necessary to support several of our long range areas of focus goals, and is spread out across them as necessary. Example, it costs a lot of money to run a Royal Kids Camp, and host a Families Count Ministry. The funds raised from STAND for ORPHANS goes directly to Lifeline Children’s Services to help support the work they are doing with helping the vulnerable children around the world.
If you would like to donate specifically to this ministry, you may indicate that on your check and in the memo section note “Orphan Care “ ministry.
John 14:18-19, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.”
