Stephen Minister Training
If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, you’ll want to be at the next Stephen Ministry training on January 8th. To register, please pick up a form from the church office, or download it from the link below, and return it no later than December 17th. Thank you for your interest in ministering to others!

*please note: Stephen Ministers are not counselors, therapists, psychiatrists or psychologists. They are lay people, members of Faith, in good standing who believe in the scripture that says we are to help bear the burdens of one another.

More Information On Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are sometimes called the “after” people.  We are here after the phone call you hoped you’d never get……….. after the divorce (papers are served) and the bottom falls out of your life…..after the funeral, when everyone has left and the emotions you’ve held at bay come crashing in on you……..after the doctor says, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing more we can do…….after the nursing home director shakes you hand and says “welcome to your new home”……..after the last child honks the horn, waves, and drives away–and the house suddenly seems emply…….after the gavel goes down, the handcuffs go on, and your loved one is led away…….after the baby arrives, demanding more of you then you ever dreamed possible……..after you find a pink slip with your final paycheck……after your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out.

How To Become A Stephen Minister
This ministry requires an application and an interview. If at that time, it is determined that the person applying is able to complete the requirements, then they go through 20 classes (5 months) of mandatory training to be equipped to do this ministry. For more details and information, please contact Becky Redmon.
